Who will lead the war against Greed??

Africa fought against colonial rule and succeeded in shaking off the colonial shackles but can Africa wage a war against greed? And who will lead that fight? All that we need are the right systems in Africa and the change of mind set and we will kill corruption and greed. We do have systems in Africa but because of greed, nobody wants to see those systems work. Moreover, those employed to make the systems work do not see it in their interest.

Greed is killing Africa but we cannot count on anyone to fight it for us. We will all collectively and individually have to resolve to give up our ways by changing our mind set. The Akans have a saying: If you cut off your tongue and roast it for meat, you really don’t have any meat. That is a perfect picture of greed. Let’s look around us, among our colleagues, student leadership front, etc. Is the university nurturing greedy leaders?? Is the university’s system weakening the student leadership front?? These are all questions begging for answers.

One way or the other, we need to wake up and realize that greed is killing us and will not take us anywhere. This must be tackled right at the student leadership’s level since most of them metamorphosed into national leadership. So until we are able to do that, rich Africa will continue to be reduced to a beggar continent and every African will be held in contempt everywhere they go.
