The Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) together with Chevening, an international award agency based in the UK, organized a scholarship workshop for students of the University of Cape Coast.
The workshop, which is the first of it kind in Ghana, aimed at enlightening students on the scholarship scheme was held yesterday at Auditorium 900, UCC.
Representatives of the organisers of the scholarship scheme were present at the workshop. They took students through the processes involved to be selected to be part of the scholarship scheme.
Augustine Owusu and Jennifer Boateng, both graduates of the University of Cape Coast are currently among scholars from all over the world selected to undertake a career development program in a UK university (Nottingham University). Augustine and Jennifer shared their experience through the application stage of the scheme. They both advised students to take their Communication Studies seriously because they would practically have to use the skills during application of the scheme.
Also present at the workshop was Chief Superintendent Abraham Acquah, an alumnus of UCC and Chevening. He shared his experiences studying abroad. He told students that the scholarship is real and said, "access it and it will make you a better person in future."
The Dean of Students of UCC, Prof Kwaowo Edjah, who was also at the workshop expressed his gratitude to the organisers of the workshop and encouraged students to be part of the scheme.
