UCC SRC PRESIDENT RESPONDS TO ALLEGATIONS

The University of Cape Coast's (UCC)Students Representative Council (SRC) President, Mr.Francis Kwabena Arthur, in a letter issued by the Office of the SRC President, has expressed his shock and disappointment at a false letter which has been circulating on the various social media.

This said letter is said to suggest that the SRC President together with Team Sosi, a presidential aspirant team led by Mr. Theophilus Sosi has sought for help from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government in the latter's bid to win come April 7, 2016 SRC election.

"I hereby categorically state that on no day have myself and Sosi gone to seek for any financial support from the NDC or any person in his bid for SRC Presidency", Mr Arther indicated.

He further stated that it was important for him to react to this false letter since it was an indication to divide the student front and most importantly tarnish his "hard earned reputation and unshakable integrity".

"If anyone has an empirical proof of anything done or said by my person, I , Francis Kwabena Arthur to support Sosi, the person should come out with his evidence for me to bow my head in shame. Why should students be so desperate to tarnish my reputation for their selfish gains? ", he said.

The SRC President again mentioned that he is a known sympathizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and as such, there was no way he would go to the NDC for seek for funds for any aspirant.

"I have been a staunch opposition to the idea of passing on Utility Bills to students. This position I made clear last year during the TESCON UCC handing over and even joined a demonstration at the Parliament House of Ghana. It is of public account that I am a known sympathizer of the NPP, why will I go to the NDC for funding for anyone", he explained.

He therefore advised all students to treat this letter with all contempt and also be vigilant in other to elect the God-appointed leaders to win the April 7 election.

Mr. Francis Kwabena Arthur was elected into office in April, 2015 after he had served as the Acting SRC President for a year.
