UEW Vice-Chancellor Confers with UCC Vice-Chancellor




The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, (UEW), Prof. Mawuto Avoke has paid a working visit to UCC to officially introduce himself to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Prof. D. D. Kuupole.

The UEW Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the UEW, Rev. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni; Registrar, Mr. C. Y. Akwaa-Mensah and Finance Officer, T. S. Akorli.

Welcoming the new Vice-Chancellor and his team to his office, Prof. Kuupole indicated that he was happy to receive the team and added that Prof. Avoke was always welcome to call on him for assistance when the need arises.

Prof. Kuupole urged his colleague to be result-oriented by seeking to involve everybody including those who do not share in his vision “since it is through that you can survive in your seat as Vice -Chancellor”. “You have people who are vested with a lot of experience to fall on, please you should rely on them”.

Prof. Kuupole reminded him that he would face a lot of challenges now that he had assumed office from his own colleagues but was hopeful that he would be able to go round such challenges. He urged Prof. Avoke to work hard to make University of Education, Winneba to become an institution of excellence.

In his response, Prof. Avoke, thanked Prof. Kuupole for the insight given him even as he commences duty and pledged to work with his colleagues to enable him succeed since ‘If I fail, it means we have all failed”. He said, he was comforted by the fact that he was assuming office with an array of experienced Vice-Chancellors to provide guidance to him in the performance his duties.
